A careful selection of grapes from old vineyards. The wine comes mostly from the historic Russeghine vineyard, located above the town of Ranzo Borgo. Red clayey soil, rich in skeleton and ferrous
minerals.
Il Pigato Le Russeghine features depth and minerality, it is the fullest expression of a special terroir.

Description:: bright straw-yellow colored with delicate green nuances. Ample and varietal on the nose: fruity aromas (yellow peach, citron, grapefruit), Mediterranean aromatic herbs (sage, thyme,
pine resin, anise). Full and persistent on the palate, with marked savouriness and mineral hints. Citrus fruit and almond notes on the finish.
Place of origin: the Arroscia Valley. Mostly from the historic Russeghine vineyard, in the hill rising above the town of Ranzo Borgo at 230 meters above sea level, with a south-east exposure to
sunlight. To a lesser extent, from other winery-owned vineyards located along the typical Ligurian terraced hillsides. Red clayey soil, rich in skeleton and ferrous minerals. The Russeghine hill has been
registered as “vineyard” owned by the diocesan administration since the late 1700s.
Vine training technique: Guyot. Mostly old vineyards, over 25 years old.
Harvest date: mid-September, grapes are picked manually and placed in 20-kg perforated crates.
Winemaking and ageing: soft pressing, removal of solid matter from the must and controlled-temperature fermentation at 18°. Ageing in steel and large barrel on fine lees for eight months.
