“BANSIGU” Rosso Colline Savonesi IGT
Bansigu, the Ligurian dialect word for “swing”, is a red, Mediterranean-style wine, made from carefully selected Granaccia grapes and other varieties, some of which are lesser-known, but since always
grown in our vineyards.
A lively wine, with a juicy and bouncy mouthful of flavour.
Grape variety: at least 70% of Granaccia, and Rossese, Barbera, Cinsault grapes, as well as a lower percentage of other varieties.
Description:: not too deep cherry red, with ruby-red nuances. Intense and intriguing on the nose with notes of wild rose, strawberry tree, plum and raspberry. Light and racy on the palate, fruity
on the finish leaving an acid and savoury sensation.
Place of origin: the Arroscia Valley. Vineyards of Ortovero and Pogli, close to the Mediterranean scrub woods. Lean, rocky soils, consisting mostly of sedimentary rock and blue calcareous
clay.
Vine training technique: mid-September, grapes are picked manually and placed in 20-kg perforated crates.
Harvest date:
Winemaking and ageing: skin-contact maceration for six days. Fermentation and ageing exclusively in steel, where the malolactic fermentation is carried out. Available from the first spring
subsequent to harvest.
